Group Of Seven artist Frederick Varley is one of the founding members of the iconic Canadian group. His print, Stormy Weather, will leave a lasting impression.
Frederick Horsman Varley (1881 –1969) was a founding member of the Group of Seven artists. Varley was born in Sheffield, England. He attended Académie royale des Beaux-Arts in Antwerp, Belgiumand immigrated to Canada in 1912 on the advice of another Sheffield native (and future Group of Seven member) Arthur Lismer. Varley's major contribution to art is his work with the Group of Seven. He and Lawren Harris were the only members of the group to paint portraits.
